Dr. Cindy Payne – WSCA 2021 Supervisor/Administrator of the Year

Madison, WI – Dr. Cindy Payne, Director of Student Services and Interim superintendent at Kohler School District, in Kohler, WI has been recognized as the 2021 Wisconsin School Counselor Association Super-visor/Administrator of the Year. Dr. Payne’s nomination includ-ed a multitude of examples on how she positively impacts the lives of her students while sup-porting the school counseling program at Kohler High School. Dr. Payne’s nominator, Chris-tine Voice, High School Coun-selor at Kohler High School said “Dr. Payne has been an advocate for school counsel-ors and the school counseling program. Dr. Payne approach-es work at the individual level but works to create systemic change. She understands the need for sys-tems of support for school counseling programs and also serves as a mentor and role model for overcoming com-passion fatigue for school coun-selors in this work.”Every February, the Wiscon-sin School Counselor Associ-ation recognizes individuals within the school counseling and educational profession who demonstrate profound impact on the school counseling pro-fession and lives of students. Nominations for the Supervi-sor/Administrator award are submitted to the Wisconsin School Counselor Associ-ation Profession-al Recognition & Scholarship Com-mittee and are rat-ed by a committee of active and re-tired school coun-selors. Winners are determined based on their contributions to their school counseling pro-gram, leadership, and service to their community. The orga-nization selects one individual to receive this award. This year, award winners were recognized on February 4, 2021 during WS-CA’s National School Counsel-ing Week “Virtual” Breakfast Celebration.
